During last week's Blogfest, we heard from several top shelter magazines. House Beautiful's Editor in Chief, Newell Turner, spoke about what inspires him. More than once, Newell mentioned his admiration for New York Social Diary. As a long time fan of this site, I knew just what he meant. NYSD always focuses on such visually interesting apartments...the very ones I was always trying to peak into when I still lived in Manhattan. However, unlike magazines, the photos here are less styled and much more lived in. Toothbrushes, toiletries, books and ephemera, it's all out in the open. I couldn't resist posting this home belonging to designer, Amanda Nisbet. Often featured in magazines, Ms. Nisbet is no stranger to the polished photos of the high end shelter world, which is why it's so great to see her apartment in a different yet equally as lovely light. (And speaking of House Beautiful, have you checked out the amazing new paint color app they've developed? So addictive!)
