hm, I think I also heart from a friend that orange will be the color of 2011. anyway purple is gorgeous too and I wouldn't mind having it as a main color next year :)
ReplyDeletesorry, meant heard. typo :)
ReplyDeleteI hope so! I know you would love it! xo
ReplyDeleteBa ha ha, your songs crack me up, Sue, I love it! I know for a fact that I am one of those friends, I have been predicting purple as Pantone Color of the Year for awhile now (though I wouldn't be surprised if aubergine sneaked in there...). XX!
ReplyDeleteI wholeheartedly agree!
ReplyDeleteWell I'm all for it! To wear or decorate with!
ReplyDeleteI with you sister.
ReplyDeleteI heard it from a friend that you might just be right! It really has been everywhere this year. K xx
ReplyDeleteMyth.
ReplyDeleteOfficially 2011 colors are:
honeysuckle, coral rose, peapod, beeswax, silver peony, russet, regatta, pale lavender, and silver cloud.
No official "purple" on the design radar, thankfully.......
Regardless, who cares what's official - use what you like.
I love those dark purple dining chairs!
ReplyDeleteIt sure seems that way, it's everywhere!
ReplyDeleteIt's certainly been around a lot recently - why not also into next year!?
ReplyDeleteSo funny! Honestly, though, do people actually say to themselves 'purple is the color of the year, I am going to paint my living room to stay in tune with the times'? I can see it for fashion, not so much for decor...but, on the other hand, it has been creeping into the design consciousness over the past few years, so people might be a bit more open to incorporating it if they are redoing something.
ReplyDeleteYES...and I love how you wrote this post! I just bought a purple dress and will share it sometime this week. Happy Monday!!!

I have always loved purple. When you walk through my house, there is a little purple in just about every room, not intentionally, just there.
ReplyDeleteI am not one to go overboard with any shade of purple...but a touch of purple here and there seems really nice!!
ReplyDeleteGreat blog! Love all the pics.
ReplyDeleteAnyways: Thanks for the comment on my blog, and I am totally obsessed with that ring as well :)
I'll see if I can get Leatrice Eiseman on the phone (I was in Color Marketing Group with her - lovely lady) and put a good word in for purple. LOL! I wish I knew her that well. The issue with purple is that people love it or hate it, there is no in between. I always tried to fight for a purple colorway in the fabrics I designed, but 95% of the time the purple was voted out. But it will always be chic and relevant. I love it!!!
ReplyDeleteLooks great in those pics and I'm sure it's the color of the year if the person love the color. For a trend I'm not sure on trends.
ReplyDeleteYAY! Purple is my fav!! Love love love it!
ReplyDeletePS. the Elle Decor lilac dining room is my ALL TIME FAVORITE!
I know that you would be all over that!!!
ReplyDeleteHappy Monday ~~
xoxo
i'll always love purple; color of the year or not!!
ReplyDeleteOh, I hope so..I'm loving it! ( And it matches your blog so lovely!:)

ReplyDeleteI wouldn't complain if it were... Great first pic!
ReplyDeleteHello: Sorry I've been under water so long. My last post was very slow for me. Bobby McAlpine makes me nervous for some reason. He's so good, it is spooky. Anyway, I am going to predict a very strong almost acid yellow that Laura Kirar used in the Baker showroom last April. I'll let you know after Oct. market!
ReplyDeleteI love that first image!
ReplyDeleteI have totally been gravitating towards purple as well!
ReplyDeleteI recently painted our dining room "Get Back Jack" from C2Paint which is like Black Cherry Soda, so kind of purple.
ReplyDeletePurple Rain, Purple rain!! You just might be right, and I think it goes FAB with orange! --Gretchen O.

I think you are right! Woo hoo! I keep seeing it more and more lately. I love the deep plum shade that is so popular for fall right now!
ReplyDeletewait a minute...i thought i suffered through 19000000zillion comments so that we all could stop predicting and following trends and go with what made us happy???
ReplyDeletebut....if purple makes you happy then by all means incorporate that shit.

ReplyDeleteI love purple! I've seen a lot of it already with some of the fall decor!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos!
purple is always the color at the zhush, why not 2011 too?!
ReplyDeleteIt was bound to happen! Purple is fabulous!
ReplyDeleteWhen you say it like that, it HAS to be in....b/c "someone" said that "they" said so. So it's a GO! Roll that purple show :) XO, Kelly
ReplyDeleteHad to come back tonight and let you know that I have had a wonderful song in my head ALL day today, and probably tomorrow too.. thinking of you :) xx

Just DYING for the french doors in the first photo... And of course the purple hydrangas :)

ReplyDeleteThat yellow table is from a great store in Stockholm!
Love to you, Mon
Wait you like purple?
ReplyDeleteI think if you want it to be THE color of 2011 then it shall be.
You must just be beside youself right now:-) I love it in decor and see it popping up more than ever, LOVE!
ReplyDeleteI´m personally not a purple girl, but can enjoy it in other peoples homes. If I´m going purple, it would be a very light one.
ReplyDeleteI have seen a lot of purple lately, so it might just be the color of 2011. Why not?:)
That first pic. looks amazing. Also enjoy the industrial yellow table!
And this should make me very happy :)
ReplyDeleteYou are hilarious! Just for you, I hope it is :)
ReplyDeletePurple is THE colour for every year as far as I'm concerned!! Always has been and always will be my favourite colour :-)
ReplyDeleteKelly
I like touches of purple - and that foyer is amazing! Simple but so pretty!
ReplyDeleteI don't use much purple in the house, but then it WOULD make a nice pop against the greens I have ... hmmm ... and that first photo of the entry - LOVE!
ReplyDeleteI hope not! Purple is my favorite color of all time! I have it in every room of my house!
ReplyDeleteNice photos, and a dash of purple sure makes the day:)
ReplyDeleteLOVE this post, the purple and that SONG!! So fun! xo
ReplyDeleteI have such mixed feelings about that...I love me some purple but I don't ever want to get tired of it...If everything is purple then will it be as special. I'm a purple girl through and through so I'm all for spreading the love!
ReplyDeleteloooove the flowers in the first pic!
ReplyDeleteCould not agree more!! :)
ReplyDeleteOh good, it looks like I'm just about the first to comment on this... Anyways, yes! I've been seeing purple sneak into plenty of designs lately and wouldn't be surprised if it was full blown COTY (color of the year) for 2011. But Anonymus has a different opinion, we are destined for peapod and beeswax apparently.
