The Mayflower

I can't believe it's been four years since I was lucky enough to escape to the Mayflower Inn and Spa, in scenic Washington, Connecticut.  For a whole week I stayed at this amazing respite. Relaxing within the walls of these beautiful spaces was a complete and total indulgence. It was here that I was first exposed to color coded bookcases...(as in calming white only please), an abundance of mercury glass, as well as some really fabulous artwork.  I remember being very taken with all of it. Such an incredible get away, enhanced with yoga classes, treatments, seminars and amazing food.  I would love to plan my return...but in the mean time I guess I'll just have to settle for these lovely photographic reminders.
My actual room...a design departure from the spa building, but equally as chic.

    So funny - I was just talking to someone yesterday about the Mayflower. They were looking for a girls weekend away but not too far and it was the first place that came to mind. Just beautiful!!

    Connecticut is a place I have heard of only from the movies. I understand it is a lovely getaway resort and this post confirms it. by the way what's that curved decorative object on the wall of 2nd pic?

    I can't believe you posted about this place today as I was just looking at a tidbit on this gem in the Westchester Health and Life magazine. The image of the chaise lounges positioned to look out onto the property has me sold to book a getaway there!

    Your room is gorgeous! It looks so comforting, warm and inviting, while being pretty and feminine! I love the rich, calming color palette and the mix of patterns and fabrics! Wow! I also like the spa...it does look relaxing for sure! Hope all is well!

    This is the perfect time of year for a spa getaway. If you have to be indoors what better way to pass the time than being pampered. Beautiful spa!

    *Sigh*.. It looks so serene and peaceful. All that softness and beautiful light filled rooms.
    I am a huge spa sook (Australian word for softie) and have a dream of at least once in my life travel to Bali and spend a two to three weeks at one of their detox spas... Aaaah.. can you imagine the bliss. No kids, no phones, no toxins, no stress..
    In fact, I will call you before I book so that you can come with me..! :)

    I've never seen an Inn/Spa with such "homey" decor. Pic#3, with the chaise lounge chairs, facing the window wall, with that view....wow
