Leanne Shapton:
Former New York Times op-ed page art director,
celebrated artist and illustrator, and published author
is the talented individual behind all of the above images.
Her experimental novel, entitled,
"Important Artifacts and Personal Property
from the Collection of Lenore Doolan and Harold Morris,
Including Books, Street Fashion, and Jewelry"
received critical acclaim. Although the title will not fit
on a marquis, rumor has it
that Ms. Shapton's book is being made into a movie
starring Brad Pitt and Natalie Portman.
Just recently, I came across Ms. Shapton's name yet again,
while reading her New York Times T Magazine blog feature
entitled "We Three Things". Not to mention, in February,
when I spied these Tory Burch
limited edition Valentine's Day pajamas,
for which Leanne Shapton designed the textiles.
I think we will be seeing a lot more from this busy and talented lady...

One memorable one from my last pregnancy involved ordering cranberry juice and bread from room service at the St. Regis in NYC during a business trip....$45 well spent...
ReplyDeleteSue, I've loved Leanne Shapton's illustrations for years. I saw her speak once with her husband, Jason Fulford. They run a small book imprint.
